Downtown Vancouver Area

Vancouver is a wonderful urban playground with something for everyone. You won’t have trouble finding things to do in the downtown core, and we’ve curated a short-list of Vancouver attractions and things to do to get you started.

Our West End Location

Just a few blocks from the entrance to Vancouver’s world-famous Stanley Park and the picturesque Coal Harbour marinas, our West End location is hands-down the best place to stay in the downtown core. Within walking distance to all the high-energy features of the bustling urban centre, such as shopping, restaurants, entertainment and local/international businesses and corporation headquarters, our hotel is about 40-50 minutes from Vancouver International Airport, accessible by rapid transit or taxi.

Binge-Worthy: Downtown Shopping Stops

Make sure to pack your chic-but-sensible shoes for some retail therapy just steps from our hotel on trendy Robson Street. You can also wander over to historic Gastown for trinkets, apparel and one-of-a-kind finds, or head over to Pacific Centre Mall near Granville and Dunsmuir for an indoor shopping experience, as well as the stand-alone Holt Renfrew department store.

After Dark: Night time in Vancouver

A nice, 20-minute walk from the city’s entertainment strip on Granville Street means you can be close to the clubs, restaurants and venues on the pedestrian-friendly entertainment district. You’re also about a half-hour’s walk to BC Place Stadium and Rogers Arena, hosts of Vancouver’s largest sports teams and world-class musical acts.

Get Some Fresh Air: City Parks + Beaches

Walk a few blocks in three directions and you’re bound to hit a world-class park, stunning beach or picturesque waterfront. Head into Stanley Park for a gorgeous seawall walk and beach access at Third and Second Beach, which is also home to the outdoor Second Beach Swimming Pool. Or, walk 15 minutes down Denman Street and you’ll hit one of Vancouver’s hottest summer spots: English Bay Beach. Pet owners, you’ll enjoy the dog-friendly Harbour Green Park just a 15-minute walk from our hotel in Coal Harbour.
